Unity for Social Development

Introduction:

Ganesh-Ujjan (GU) Memorial Foundation is a social institution established on the reminiscences of the martyrs Ganesh Kumar Shrestha and Ujjan (Bhuwan) Kumar Shrestha, residents of Pokali VDC, Okhaldhunga District. The institution has been registered at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, on 25 July 2011, with the registration number 29/068/069, naming after the duo martyrs, who were murdered by the Maoists during the armed conflict. The foundation, having associated with Social Welfare Council, has been working specifically for the development of the children of rural areas in Nepal. It has been launching programs having close coordination with various national and international organizations in the sectors, like education, health, sports and social work.

It is purely a non-political, non-profitable social institution. We have established a Renewable Trust by the money collected from the families and well-wishers, and with that money we have extended our working areas in social issues having coordination with national and international personalities and organizations.
